I guess we could:
(a) leave the lsrc as I put it and add a note: "etym. uncertain".
(b) drop the lsrc and have a note: "poss. from Port. 'balanço'".
(c) don't mention a source at all.
I think I prefer (a) or (b). |

etymology appears to be uncertain. i always thought it was gairaigo, but daijisen offers: 擬態語「ぶらり」「ぶらん」などからできた語か. koj, daij say that portuguese is only one explanation: 一説にポルトガル語から、語源はポルトガル語 balanco からという説がある |
