中国語で先生(シーサン)と呼びかけるのは日本語だとどういう感覚ですか?
日中戦争に出征した兵隊さんの戦記を読むと
地元の子供が「先生、先生」と呼びかけてきて
物をあげたりしたのをきっかけに友達になる
というような場面によくでくわします。

both say it's from Shanghainese pronounciation - I could only 
find standard Chinese for 先生, which is xiānshēng
