Comments: | Amen, you didn't support your contribution with any references so I checked two major 国語 dictionaries and based my glosses on the following definitions: Daijrin: "目が見えるようになること。また,見えるようにする。「―手術」" Daijisen: "よく見えなかった目が、よく見えるようになること。また、よく見えるようにすること。「開眼手術」" --------- I see now that Kojien has "眼を開くこと" in addition to the above so I've added a gloss to reflect that. Please always cite your sources. I'd also advise against using eijiro as a primary source. It's full of odd terms and translations. "開眼能力", for instance, gets next to no real hits online. |

Comments: | i'm not sure i can agree, dear editors. eji's "開眼失行: apraxia of eye-opening | apraxia of lid opening" and "開眼能力: the ability to open one's eyes" do suggest a different meaning. よろしくお願いします... |
