I don't think mixing "expectation..." with "it should be so" is a good idea for a [n] sense. (I think it's a horrible idea).
But I guess it is a noun, still? "そのはず" for example.
if we want to treat it like a noun, the glosses should maybe look something like
"the way (something) should be; how (something) is expected to be",
I don't know.
