I don't think just "without" is a good gloss |

I think it's probably better to have it than not. The note, etc. should help. It's not
really irregular, any more than other する inflections are. |

The difference is that 来ず[こず] comes from 来ない[こない] regularly, while しない to せず is irregular and it's not obvious what it's a conjugation of. |

We usually tag conjugations as exp, I believe.
If it doesn't appear in the conjugation table, I think that's really an issue with the conjugation table.
A jisho search for せず for example brings up
"せず could be an inflection of する, with these forms:
Zu-form. It means “Without doing Verb.”"
(unfortunately, they also have this entry appearing, even though it was deleted 8 months ago... I thought Kim had fixed this issue)
If we include this, we should also have 来ず. But I'm not convinced we need either. |

It's not really a word in its own right, so to speak, but an inflection of する. See row 1
of the linked table. We have せずに as an entry as this is common adverb.
Maybe it could be revived. |

Why is this (extremely common) word deleted?
It's not listed as any valid conjugation of する here: http://www.edrdg.org/jmdictdb/cgi-bin/conj.py?e=2000606&svc=jmdict&sid=&
so how I'm supposed to parse something like 存在せず if it can't be derived from conjugation rules? |

Indeed. Just the ず form of する. It's definitely not a particle. I think it can go. |

I feel this is not correct, and not needed. It's "just" an inflection. |
