チキンエキス that is liquid, but very thick. boullion, broth, stock are all thin, aren't they...?
I remember my mom using this sometimes, though:
https://www.amazon.com/Knorr-Touch-Taste-Concentrated-Bouillon/dp/B00BHFA8XG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
which is in similar consistency. |

Stock is a watery liquid. Is エキス used with that meaning? I'm not sure it is.
I agree about the etymology note. Maybe this is better. |

I'll repeat what I said before. I don't see how this can be tagged as an abbreviation when none of the dictionaries (kokugos or JEs) have an エキストラクト entry.
The etymological notes in the kokugos make it quite clear that エキス is an abbreviation of "extract", not エキストラクト.
By having an abbr tag, we're saying that エキス is the shortened form of エキストラクト, which isn't true.
エキストラクト is also used in Japanese but it came later. |

perhaps a note for the lsrc such as [note="abbr. of エキストラクト, from the Dutch \"extract\""], although it is arguably unneeded
i also think the kana here are wacky. currently it's arranged the same way that we do japanese species names. but the correct way of writing this is エキス (as in all dictionaries), and 越幾斯 is ateji for エキス, so it shouldn't take a nokanji tag. i see no relevant google image hits for えきす so i am removing it, but if it's needed, it should be a secondary reading, since it's clearly much much less common than エキス |

With that note in Daijirin (which I didn't notice last year) I think the abbr and xref can
go back in. I also think the lsrc can be dropped here. |

None of my refs have エキストラクト so I don't think the x-ref or abbr tag is appropriate.
It derives from "extract" but it's not an abbreviation in Japanese. |
