I can't find any examples where it refers to the seat belt itself. Google Images shows various types of straps and belts – most of them aren't seat belts. I think we should keep it simple. |

Reverso - almost always matches "webbing" but usually in the context of seat belts (or in some cases "sheet belts"). |
