The obsc tag was for 御総様, which is no longer the headword. We don't usually tag dialectal terms as obscure anyway. |

Yes, the notes are just comments, and don't match. I have added 御総様 to a special glossing file, so it should work for you after the next update. |

Thanks.
In text glossing it does not show up if one has 御総様 in the text - is the note "invisible" in that case? |

"obsc" is better. |

we only have two approved [rare] entries in the dictionary.
should this be [obsc] or not tagged? |

Yes, all the WWW hits I get for 御総様 refer to ぐすーよー.
I think this is the appropriate way to record it. |

Text at hand
Web references all point to Okinawa - here are two:
http://www.jlect.com/entry/47/gusuuyou-gusuuyoo/
"[...] the very rare Japanese term そうよう【総容・総様】 souyou, used to refer to a group of people assembled or seated."
http://owanparking.web.fc2.com/staffmesseage.html
"御総様こんにちは。まだ暑いですが、お元気ですか?" |
|
Comments: |
This expression seems to be not used in Japanese (anymore?), while its equivalent in Okinawa, ぐすーよー, is common usage in polite speech. If you think it does not warrant an entry for Japanese, it could be listed with reading ぐすーよー and marked as [rkb]. |
