| Refs: | GG5 has: しじま【黙･静寂】 stillness; silence; quietude. and, of course, せいじゃく【静寂】 etc. My other JEs don't have 黙 but do have しじま without kana. |

| Comments: | Of my refs, none except koj associate しじま with any kanji. koj has 黙・静寂, but my refs only have 静寂 as せいじゃく and neither reading for 黙. So I propose splitting しじま out and dropping 黙. |
