Comments: | is there an actual word for this in English? I feel that the non-literal meaning of "lubricant" in English is different from the Japanese one. e.g. ": something that lessens or prevents friction or difficulty a social lubricant" In Japanese, it's not used to refer to alcohol! "(person or thing acting as a) lubricant" ? |

Comments: | i don't think this is right. 潤滑 clearly means 'lubrication', which is not the main function that 'hydraulic fluid' serves. |
