日系アメリカ人の中で、「帰米」(きべい)と呼ばれる人たちがいる。出生地はアメリカなのだが、幼少期に日本で教育を受けて、ふたたびアメリカ
にもどってきた人たちのことだ。日本に一度戻ってからまたアメリカ(米国)に帰ってくるから帰米というのだろう。帰米が人間そのものを指す場合
のほか、形容詞的に帰米二世というように使われる場合もある。
