i think "tracked powder" was actually the only correct gloss of the bunch (as it's the only one in any of my kokugos) though it's clearly very poorly worded. "second fiddle" etc. is limited to 後塵を拝する in the kokugos, though i'd guess that that's the only phrase it's ever really used in today |
