Some of the kokugos say ミクロ is from Greek. What a choice!.
The situation with マイクロ/ミクロ is a bit messy. マイクロ is used for terms where it means 10**-6. Apart from that, they are rather interchangeable (the kokugos state that), but マイクロ is more often used with complete loanwords and ミクロ as a prefix to Japanese terms as in ミクロ景気 and ミクロ理論. |

Gakkan has ミクロ as a prefix coming from French, but I see we mention both French and German. Neither is needed here. |
