I'm still not sure what n-t actually means. Both あとあと and のちのち are used adverbially.
Looking at example sentences and the n-grams, I don't see any real difference between them. |

daijr, meikyo both say that のちのち is "副詞的にも用いる"。 no source says this about あとあと
精選版 日本国語大辞典 has 跡跡 as a headword for あとあと (which seems a little questionable with this meaning) |
