Fair point. Often I like to use a dictionary to confirm that something I'm writing or saying is actually in use. I guess I can use n-grams for that too.
There's a Tanaka sentence: その事故は去年の今日起きたのだ。 I might index that as an additional sense #1 example. |

Rather common. I sort-of feel that it should be こんじつ, I guess because in English you'd say "this day last year", not "today last year". |
