Comments: | The usual translation of 功徳/利益(りやく) is "merit". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merit_(Buddhism) "Merit is a force that results from good deeds done" I don't think "grace" is a good translation for this because of the connotations of unconditional love. There's nothing unconditional about Buddhist merit, you have to the good deeds to get it. |
