I do admit that "none of your business" sounds harsher in English to me than こっちの話 comes off in Japanese, though.

Also, the original gloss "talking to oneself" can work as a translation for this term in some contexts, but it probably doesn't fit as a dictionary gloss. Here's an example:
どうしよー… あっ、こっちの話だから、気にしないで!
What to do... Oh, I'm just talking to myself, don't mind me!

I suspect my addition is related to what was discussed back in 2012, but these are the glosses that I found useful. "matter being discussed" isn't the most enlightening gloss when you encounter こっちの話 being used on its own.
