Does the book say it's pronounced びけ？ I see
Takashi Ebashi gives the pronunciation for the
same kanji as "Biki" here (based on Spencer
Palmer's 1891 "Hana-awase" essay)

と言った。"
The only connection I can find online between
びけ and 尾季 is this snippet on google books:
