Comments: | Not in most of the refs, but koj has a second sense of 「譜代の恩義を蒙った者はいつまでも元の主人を忘れない。」 and sanseido kotowaza has it as 「代々主家 に仕えて受けた恩を後々までも忘れない、という意。」 A bit difficult to translate, but if we want to include it, maybe: "even after generations, the favor of one's original master won't be forgotten". |
