イカ's like the generic term, so they're both イカ. コウイカ=cuttlefish; and apparently ツツイカ=squid, but i've never heard that before
to be honest, i knew what an "イカ" was before i knew what a "cuttlefish" was, so i didn't know that we drew a distinction in english. for a little while, i thought "squid" and "cuttlefish" were just synonyms |
