Comments: | Yes, the "that" is better. |

Comments: | this -> that The sense 2 glosses need "that" in front of them. There's another sense we were missing. |

Comments: | OK, I'll drop the note and switch senses. Probably better this way. |

Comments: | I'm OK having this as an entry (and prob. あの道 and この道) but I don't think the 2nd sense should be there. Either we do every single sense from 道, or we do just one, or we're being misleading. If it really must be kept, I think the note must go. What does "usual meaning" mean? I have my doubts it's actually "usual" as in "more common." But if it were, why isn't it sense 1? I think small inconsistencies like these makes the dictionary harder to use. |

Comments: | Probably time to call it a day on this one. I'm leaving it in largely because of its presence in the JEs. I'm also leaving in the "usual meaning" because I'm aware this is primarily a decoding/passive dictionary and there's a risk that learners might think sense 1 is the only meaning of the expression. I see that GG5 also has この道 entry referencing the same sense of 道 (but not one for あの道.) [Daijr has a この道 entry too; for the 1927 song "この道はいつか来た道".] |
