says "まん」は「間」が転化したもの" but not that it's ever been
written that way.
This is also more commonly used in the sexual sense (judging
by google hits, etc.). wiki: "後に、「まん」を女性器の俗称「まんこ」
を略したものと誤解され、肉体関係を持った男性の運気を上げ、より良い巡り合わせに
する女性を「あげまん」、不運な巡り合わせにする女性を「さげまん」と称するようにな
