Daijr, etc. point にっぽん to にほん. |

I'd say it's more formal, which often means it's used in more nationalistic contexts. I feel a note about that would be more of a clutter than anything really useful. Any other views? |

My teacher mentioned that the にっぽん reading often gives off a nationalistic overtone. Is it worth adding a note? Could be helpful. |

OK. I'm suggesting a note on the ジャパン entry. |

I don't know. It's REALLY rare and I feel it's giving it too much prominence to have it here with にほん and にっぽん. Kojien and Dajisen (AFAICT) don't mention it. If it were to go it it would need something like "ok". I suspect having it on the ジャパン entry in a note like "from じっぽん" might be better. |

Yes, both result in a "P" in the edict versions. I'll put a message on the list about these. |

Jim, a question:
Does [spec2] suffice for an entry to be considered common and marked with (P)? |

to summarize, I think we need to specify what exactly we
are using the adj-no pos for. |

does this make any sense?
if it does, should all the other country entries be amended in the same manner? |
