I don't think 笑, 苦笑 and 涙 are meant to be read aloud either. They're net slang. |

I don't think this is meant to be read aloud. It's almost like an emoji. You see the same thing with 怒 (and other characters, I'm sure).
We could probably argue this is covered by the kanjidic entry. |
