including these as headwords makes a mess of the entry. it's almost inconceivable to me that they would ever be provided without telling the reader without アスパラガス furigana, and all the web hits i find just seem to be websites saying "did you know asparagus is also written as 竜髭菜", etc. google image hits for 龍鬚菜 look nothing like what we normally call "asparagus" in english, and suggest that they correspond to Asparagus schoberioides, which is a different species
this could perhaps take a "also written as 竜髭菜" note, but given its rarity, and the fact that no dictionary bothers, i don't think it's needed

実用日本語表現辞典 and a number of the other sources provided at weblio do not appear to be particularly great. if they are not one of the major kokugos, please do some additional checking at least into frequency of use |
