Add cocktail sense (and katakana) – seen twice lately to refer to wine-based 酎ハイ. (With 赤玉 wine, but that’s a bit too specific.)
(Origin is apparently due to bathtub liquor in post-war Japan, in sense “easy to get drunk”, these days used to mean “alcohol + alcohol/liquor”.) |
