Refs: | "That’s crazy/Insane! →「すごいね!あり得ない!」 この表現は基本的に何か信じられない出来事があったときや信じられない話を聞いたときに、「すごい!」「あり得ない!」「やばい!」など..." https://hapaeikaiwa.com/2016/09/06/ネイティブの口癖?% 8Ccrazy%E3%80%8D%E3%81%A8%E3%80%8Cinsane%E3%80%8D/ "Crazy! / Insane! 「やばい!(おかしい / 狂った)」 物事に対しては、「変な」「まともじゃない」といったニュアンス。 物事だけでなく、人に対しても使えます。言動がおかしかったり、怪しかったり、気味が悪い、狂っている、そんな状態の人に対して使います。 ・That man is crazy.「あの男やばいよ。(頭がおかしい)」 ・She is insane.「彼女マジでやばいよ。(正気じゃない)」" https://yolo-english.jp/yabai-howtosay-english-10291 |

Comments: | I think this usage is different from the "awful/terrible/crap" of sense 2. |

Comments: | I understand what you are saying, but there are other ways of thinking about this. I prefer to view やばい, ヤバい and ヤバイ as the same word. Thus I view やばかない as an inflected form of ヤバイ. I think you are attaching too much importance to the hiragana/katakana difference. |

Comments: | The point is that ヤバイ usually won't inflect. Having said that, I see ヤバクナイ gets 559 in the n-grams, and while ヤバクナカッタ doesn't score there, it can be seen in 2ch posts and Tweets. |
