うちの息子に限ってそんな悪さをするなんて考えられない. I can conceive of others being capable of such wickedness, but our son? Never!
彼が休みを取っている日に限ってやっかいな問題が起こるんだ. The only time we get really big problems are the days when he's on leave.

This is a major rewrite based on the 1.5 page entry in Makino & Tsutsui's "Dictionary of Intermediate Japanese Grammar". They make a good point about the mandatory negative predicate. See the 8 Tanaka examples (not yet indexed so search for sentences with に限って).
