Comments: | In our entry for オーラス, Paul Upchurch called it "the final hand" rather than "the final round", with the comment: "I'm tempted to refer to a 局 in mahjong as a "round", rather than a "hand", since a game can stay in a given 局 for multiple hands. But we currently refer to mahjong 場 as rounds (e.g. in the entry for 半荘), and if we instead used "round" for 局, I'm not sure how we'd refer to 場." Our 局 entry, on the other hand, only has "game (of go, shogi, etc.)". In 場, there is a "round" sense. |
