"chateaubriand" could be said to be "super exclusive" cut but really not a "super unusual" one.

I was surfing ryokan websites yesterday looking at the different meal options and it was obvious the meaning in which they used it 
wasn't "an unusual cut of meat (which you won't often see in restaurants, because it's a little odd)" but "the most exclusive piece 
(because there's so little of it)!" The way they use it, it's really a "PR word" and if a professional translator got to work on their 
sites I really think "we have unusual meat!" would be a poor translation of the actual message the ryokan wants to impart.
Also I think scarcity = exclusivity
