Well, the additional sense for 縛り has been approved, so this can go. |

I've come around to Robin's position on this one, and proposed an extra sense to the 縛り entry. I think it will work OK. |

How about using the same gloss but without "2-year"? I would maybe change it to "form of automatically-renewing mobile phone contract with a limited cancellation window and high early cancellation fees".
We could add a note like "usu. as 2年縛り or 4年縛り".
Given that it's not always in the form "2年縛り", I think this is a better approach. |

I don't see how anything meaningful can be added to 縛り which would help someone decode 2年縛り satisfactorily. It's really a very elliptical term. |

Can't we just add a sense to 縛り? This looks like a pretty odd entry to me. There's also 4年縛り. |

It's better, but the most egregious point about these contracts is that you will be hit with cancellation fees even after 2 years have
passed - the "no-fee cancellation period" only lasts 1 or 2 months and only occurs once every 2 years, and if you miss that window, you
still have to pay the cancellation fees. |

I kind of think they are. This isn't an
official term in the sense that docomo,
softbank, etc. use it to describe their
products but a term used by the media as
