The difference is that 死の組/"group of death" is not technical sports lingo. It appears in news articles aimed at the general public, but is not quite ubiquitous enough to be understood by everyone, especially without context. |

I'm perfectly OK with leaving something like the expl in, I just think it's a little unnecessary. I'd be surprised if I really
understood even 1/10th of the translations for the [baseb]-tagged entries but I don't know that it's necessary to provide lengthy
explanations to each one of them because of that. If you're interested enough in sports to read a text where an expression like "死の組"
is actually used, you'll probably understand what it means, is my thinking. But if you prefer to keep it in, that's OK with me. |
