Comments: | While 近いうちに or そのうちに both have similar meanings, they don't suffice in this situation, which specifically refers to the very near future. It carries a different nuance than すぐ or 今すぐ and is useful in conversation when you're talking about your plans or expectations of the near future. 今私は本を読んでるが、もうちょっとしたら出かけようと思う。I'm reading a book right now, but I think I'm going to head out soon. |
