use of the [obs] tag is confusing. it has variously been applied to "words that are old but not old enough to be [arch]" and "words that have been completely supplanted by some other word" or "government agencies that no longer exist". but i think we also decided it's not supposed to be applied to historical terminology
i looked at the list of stuff tagged as [obs] and it looks like a grab-bag. this seems to qualify as much as a lot of the crap that is [obs] |
