Comments: | There are 56 Tanaka sentences and all are using sense 2, usually with the words innocent and innocence. It's much the same with Eijiro. Plainly it's the more common sense. I propose to reverse the order. |

Comments: | This is how the kokugos split the senses. Makes more sense to me. When referring to a crime, 無実 doesn't really mean "innocence" but "groundlessness" (hence "無実の罪"). |
