Why all these abbreviations?
They are common in print dictionaries because they need to squeeze
the maximum amount of material into a limited number of pages,
but we don't have that problem.
AFAIK we are not running out of bits any time soon. |

I’ve seen this many times, and as per ja:WP it’s far and away the most popular regional udon in Japan. (丸亀 is a big brand, for instance.)
The name is a bit confusing b/c it’s the old region name, so some clarification helps. |
