Quite agree with the assessment. And I agree with the remarks about Eijiro (aka ALC); I've made similar remarks in the past. It's good for confirmation, extra glosses, etc., but risky as a primary source. |

I think this term is extremely specialized. It gets only a few dozen hits in Japanese (most are Chinese) and it's not listed in any technical dictionaries (that I have available). ALC is the only site which gives an English translation.
From the few snippets I managed to find online, I feel fairly confident in saying that it's a non-standard variant of ダークエネルギー/暗黒エネルギー, the translation for "dark energy". Physicists don't talk about a "dark force", but エネルギー and 斥力 are used interchangeably in the examples below.
1. この宇宙斥力は、空間自体に潜むある種のエネルギーで、最近ではダークエネルギー（dark energy）とも呼ばれている
2.宇宙がある段階から速度が速くなりながら膨張するためには、何か宇宙を押し広げる力が必要で、そういう宇宙斥力をダークエネルギーと呼んでいる
3.宇宙斥力という謎のエネルギーが必要になる。このエネルギーが、宇宙を膨張させたということだ
I suggest either leaving this word out, or changing the gloss to "dark energy" and cross-referencing ダークエネルギー.
As an aside, I think ALC is best avoided as a primary source for defining unusual technical terms. I encounter a lot of dodgy translations on that site. |
