I don't think that just a latin name makes a good gloss.
Here neither species nor genus seems to have an English name.
Wiki says of the family Dryopteridaceae:
"They are known colloquially as the wood ferns".
"Wood fern" also means the genus Dryopteris.
I think the gloss should be
  Polystichum tripteron (species of the wood fern family)
or just
  Polystichum tripteron (species of fern).
