i don't think it's really a negative connotation.  for example, being a 威厳のない人 is definitely not a good thing.  i'm not sure there's any real need for this entry, as 威厳 covers it well.  i think that if there's a place that deserves a note regarding nuance, it would be the entry for 威厳, not this entry based on it

We already have 「威厳」, but I think it's better to separate the adj-f usage and specify the nuance of the word.

For example, you ~cannot~ express the meaning of the expression "with dignity" ("in a way that is worthy, honored, or esteemed" or "with formal reserve or seriousness of manner, appearance, or language") with the word "威厳" in Japanese. It is somewhat different.
