Refs: | "ward headman" doesn't seem likely to be in common use, and indeed some of the top Google hits derive from EDICT. See GG5 and ルミナス和英辞典 for "head" and "chief". . As for "mayor", here are a couple of examples: - 区長選挙 【くちょうせんきょ】 ward mayoral election; WI1 - Israeli embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission Peleg Lewi (C) and Jewish community of Japan president Philip Rosenfeld (L) smile with Ryo Tanaka (R) Mayor of Suginami ward during a ceremony to donate 300 copies of Anne Frank's 'Diary of a Young Girl' in Tokyo on February 27, 2014. http://www.gettyimages.com.au/detail/news-photo/israeli-embassys-deputy-chief-of-mission-peleg-lewi-and-news-photo/475195115 |
