Correct GG5’s incorrect “Edo period” to “*esp.* Edo period”.
daijr gives this as “since Muromachi period, esp. Edo”, while 
ja:WP gives “from antiquity to early Meiji period”.
It’s of some amusement that the same construction is now used 
for tourist information, rather than government announcements 
and laws.
