Not sure the qualification is necessary.
"venture business" has a wasei feel, but it gets 600k hits.

  Comments:
* Add gloss “start-up company”
* Add clarifying note that this is NOT a venture capital firm (as the 国語辞書 indicate, this is for small product development/high tech companies).

To elaborate: this point is potentially confusing and worth underlining because the terms “start-up company” (small research company) and “venture capital” (company with money, investing in small companies) are v. common (notably in US speech, certainly from 1990s to present) – while “venture company” and “venture business” are rarely used (IME – I have *never* heard the term “venture company” used to refer to a start-up company, but I’ve heard “start-up company” hundreds or thousands of times). Hence it’s easy to think that this term refers to the *investors* (money people) rather than the *small company* being invested in.

(Sorry to go on – I was very confused by this.)
