Comments: | how about "to point out (with one's finger, etc.)" then? otherwise, isn't what you're talking about kind of melting together with sense 3? |

Comments: | Also used more broadly to refer to the hand of a clock, needle, radar, etc. I don't think specifying 'finger' would be accurate. |

Comments: | The rationale behind the sense splitting is not apparent to me from the English glosses, though it perhaps might be with some further elaboration. However, I suggest basically splitting into "show" vs. "indicate" as in New Century WaEi: [1][v5s,vt] to show;to display;to demonstrate;to express (an emotion, opinion, etc.);to give (an example) [2][v5s,vt] to point out;to indicate; to read (e.g. clock) |
