Comments: | As the jekai ref says "神様仏様 is a standard phrase to refer to God(s) and Buddha(s)". The 神様仏様 string gets over 1M hits, largely because of its use in the pattern: "神様!仏様!~様!". I feel it's worth having, both as the "standard phrase", and to mention its expanded role. The 中辞典 gloss is relevant too. |

Comments: | as the example in the comments box with the comma suggests, i don't think this is really one term. as it's just A+B, i'm inclined to omit it |

Refs: | eij example (where it seems to mean just "God and Buddha"), 新和英中辞典: "one's guardian angel" I think that meaning is maybe(?) actually closer "bread and butter" when used figuratively: vocaloid.blog120.fc2.com/blog-entry-6548.html ”セガにとって「神様、仏様、初音ミク様」" (初音ミク is one of Sega's best-selling games) "温泉宿は神様仏様で中国人団体客頼りでやってるがよ 日本人のリピーターはいなくなるぜ 中国人が永遠に来るといいな " http://ameblo.jp/nico-soku/entry-11352032572.html |
