i don't know. kanjigen and the kojien kanwa both have のむ as a reading. (kanjidic doesn't though) |

Can we say "iK"? 喫 doesn't really have a reading of の.む. It's a recent creation from 喫煙. |

My preference would be to have a solo entry.I don't like those explanations that much, especially when they hide headwords. Here, I had not noticed that this was already in EDICT. A search for 喫む on wwwjdic did not bring it up. |

This is currently handled as "also written 喫む" on sense 2 in the 飲む/呑む/etc. entry. It could be made live in that entry, but the price is a mess with restrictions on all the other senses. What to do?
- leave as is?
- add a solo 喫む entry xreffed to 飲む/呑む/etc. sense 2?
- add 喫む to the current entry?
