I was never really sure what さんま was called in English until I saw the Japan
Times articles referencing the Fisheries report. However, I've always known that
simply calling it "pike" was wrong; I grew up in Michigan in the US where we
frequently fished for (northern) pike, and it's a different (and larger) fish. |
