<upd_detl>Thanks for drawing this to my attention - it's a WWWJDIC matter.
It seems that a utility program that massages the dictionary to assist with glossing was acting strangely. I recompiled it and it's OK now - I think there was possibly a mismatch between the program and a support library. It was last compiled in 2014.</upd_detl>
