Gendai Kokugo Reikai Jiten ("Genkokurei") has a note about it in its entry for カムフラージュ.
It says that despite the ム form being more popular for the full expression, モ is more popular with this abbreviation.
&gt;&gt; 若年層が「迷彩柄」を省略して表わす際は カモフラ とはいうが カムフラ ということはほとんどない。
