that it may be considered irregular because it is found as a
reading for おれ in dictionaries with the triangular symbol
next to it (as you have noted) which simply means not on 常
用漢字表 (but possibly not obsolete). I was also thinking of
it as a contracted form of the reading おのれ which is the
common reading for 己.</upd_detl>
