* Daijr/s and koj have this recorded as しょうら.
* Iwakoku, obunsha, and kanjipedia have it as さるおがせ. Iwakoku says it's a jukujikun.

Senses
* The second sense is only in daijr/s and koj. They all say basically the same thing and reference 源平盛衰記 (late Kamakura period). They say it's figuratively used to refer to the strength of vows (契り) between a couple (男女).
